The presenter will describe lexicographic entry of the English Language learner’s dictionary as a polycode communicative phenomenon, the essence of which consists in double encoding of lexicographic information by means of lexicographic definitions and iconic illustrations of different types. Intended audience: lexicographers, philologists, language teachers and students.

Oleksandr Tomchakovskyi is an associate professor in the Department of Romance and Germanic Philology at Odessa I.I.Mechnikov National University (Ukraine). He is interested in lexicography, applied linguistics and teacher development.
