An application of the general testlet model

Items within a same reading comprehension passage are more correlated with each other, a phenomenon called local item dependency (LID) hindering the valid application of item response theory. This study applies the general testlet model to the reading comprehension section of a high-stakes English proficiency test to investigate possible LID.
