The presenter applies Indexicality theory on the Egyptian movie Assal Aswed where several linguistic codes and indexes, differ according to the situation, like English, Standard Arabic (SA), and Egyptian Colloquial Arabic (ECA) have been shown. The presenter will display some examples of Code-switching from the movie. Intended audience: Socio-linguists.
