Misunderstanding between Islam and other cultures can be raised as a consequence of Islamic words developing associated meanings in English different from the source culture. The presenter will describe how she has investigated the meanings of some Islamic terms and will discuss the conclusions. Intended audience: researchers and linguists.
Amjaad Almrwaey is a lecturer at UQU. Amjaad's got her MA in English Linguistics from UCL in London with an honor degree. Her interests are Semantics, ESP and TESOL.
