Examining ‘vowel blindness’ among Arabic EFL learners

Arabic speakers have been shown to have exceptional difficulty processing English word-level written forms. These difficulties are characterized in the literature as vowel blindness. The presenter will shed some light on the emersion of vowel blindness hypothesis, and will report on the findings obtained from eye-tracking data examining vowel blindness.
